The Key Undergraduate Leadership Program (KULP) will host its Spring Guest Lecture featuring Twan Russell, a distinguished leader whose journey spans professional athletics, community leadership, and education. This engaging session will explore Russell’s transition from the NFL to leading one of the nation’s premier high school athletic programs, with a focus on purpose-driven leadership, resilience, and building a values- and faith-based organizational culture.
Russell’s leadership philosophy emphasizes service, character development, and community impact—principles that have shaped his success both on and off the field. His work as Athletic Director reflects a commitment to student-athlete development, accountability, and excellence.
About Twan Russell
Twan Russell is a former NFL linebacker who played seven seasons professionally, including time with the Miami Dolphins. Following his playing career, he transitioned into leadership roles in community outreach and education. He currently serves as Athletic Director at his alma mater, St. Thomas Aquinas High School.
Under his leadership, the athletics program has continued its tradition of excellence while strengthening relationships across students, coaches, families, and the broader community.
Russell is widely recognized as a servant leader known for integrity, strategic vision, and a deep commitment to developing young people through sport and education.
