This panel brings together a member of the Greenbelt Reparations Commission and the founder of AARN to discuss local reparations initiatives and community-based approaches to racial justice. Organized as part of a Humanities Truck Fellowship project, the event will feature three panelists who will share their experiences, challenges, and lessons learned in advancing local reparations efforts. The conversation is designed to introduce American University students to ongoing grassroots and municipal-level initiatives, and to foster dialogue about the role of universities in supporting community-engaged research and public humanities work. A moderated discussion will be followed by a Q&A session with attendees.
