Key Undergraduate Leadership Program

The Key Undergraduate Leadership Program (KULP) at American University’s School of Public Affairs invites prospective students to join an upcoming virtual information session to learn how leadership, purpose, and community come together to shape the next generation of changemakers. KULP is a selective, 12-credit certificate program designed for students who are eager to grow as leaders while navigating their first year of college. This cohort-based program focuses on developing leaders who can deliver results, build connections, and focus on personal wellness via our four program pillars: strategy, agility, connection, and reflection. Through dynamic courses, guest speakers, and real-world applications, students explore topics such as emotional intelligence, decision-making, organizational culture, and problem-solving, building the skills needed to lead with confidence in any field.

Dr. Russell Robinson is the Director of the newly created Key Undergraduate Leadership Program (Key) and is an Associate Professor within SPA and the Key Executive Leadership Program. His expertise is on public sector leadership with an emphasis on employee voice/silence and employee engagement. He is a frequent guest lecturer and keynote speaker on the topics of the Future of Work, employee engagement, voice culture, resilience, wellness, and diversity & inclusion. Prior to working at AU, Russell spent 22 years as a civil servant within the US federal government, where he developed and taught leadership and culture to all levels of employees.
