Dr. Jack McDevitt

Please join us at this year’s criminological lecture series on Emerging Research In Criminology, presented by SPA's Department of Justice, Law & Criminology. Our second guest is Dr. Jack McDevitt, who is a Professor of the Practice in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Northeastern University and the Founding Director of the Institute on Race and Justice at Northeastern University. Dr. McDevitt is the co-author of several articles, books, and reports on racial profiling, gun violence, and hate crimes including Hate Crimes: The Rising Tide of Bigotry and Bloodshed, Hate Crime Revisited: American War on Those Who Are Different, and Victimology. He has spoken on hate crime, racial profiling, human trafficking and security both nationally and internationally and has testified as an expert witness before the Judiciary Committees of both U.S. Senate and The U.S. House of Representatives and as an invited expert at the White House.
Dr. McDevitt will be joining us to discuss his research on advancing our understanding of hate and bias-related incidents.
