Join us for a Brownbag Talk on The Public Health-Informed Approach to Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention, presented by the Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships (CP3). CP3's mission is to strengthen targeted violence and terrorism prevention (TVTP) efforts by providing funding, facilitating training, increasing public awareness, and building partnerships across the country. During this presentation, CP3 staff will describe the public health-informed approach to targeted violence prevention and present students with insight into the multidisciplinary field of prevention and the many ways in which they can contribute to a culture of violence prevention in their careers.
Presenting are Strategic Engagement Lead Courtney Kay and Research Analyst Victoria Gurevich. Courtney leads CP3's efforts to cultivate partnerships with stakeholders in the arts and humanities, universities, and emergency management organizations. Courtney obtained her master's degree in Terrorism, Security, and Society at Kings College London in 2022 and graduated with her bachelor's in psychology in 2020 from Penn State University.
Research Analyst Victoria supports measurement and evaluation within CP3, ensuring an evidence base informs targeted violence and terrorism prevention programs. Victoria received her Ph.D. in political science from Ohio State University, where she wrote her dissertation on state decision-making regarding foreign national repatriation from the Islamic State.
